Lace she-oak is one of those really rare species from Australia which usually only comes to light after there&#8217;s been a brush fire. This piece has all the char marls still on it. It&#8217;s destined to be table top. I&#8217;m normally not real fond of the &#8220;live edge&#8221; ski chalet look (when done right, it looks like a George Nakashima rip-off), but this piece was just too perfect for any other use. I&#8217;ll leave the top loose, so one can flip it over and enjoy both sides as one sees fit.</p>
